The Governing Body of St. Mary's aims to be a critical friend. We support the Senior Leadership Team in the strategic direction of the school and meet regularly with Teachers and Support Staff to offer support and guidance.The Governing Body will challenge and support the Leadership Team and all staff to maintain high standards of teaching and learning at all times.
The Governing Body will aim to provide inclusive, safe and dynamic learning environments which nurture the whole child. Through the delivery of high quality curriculum provision our aim will be for all our pupils to reach their highest potential.
Mr Tony Schorah
Chair of Governors
Tony is the -chair of the governing body. He has a long standing connection with St Mary's as his now grown-up children attended the school. Until very recently Tony was Registrar and Secretary of Falmouth University and maintains an active interest in education through research and consultancy work. He makes regular visits to the school and is the link governor for ICT, Computing and Online Safety. Tony is the link governor for Class 4.

Mrs Sarah Slater
Vice-Chair of Governors
Sarah is a Foundation Governor and takes the role of the vice-chair of the governing body. She is also a grandparent of a child in Year 1. She runs her own catering company and brings this experience when supporting the school in running our in-house catering and improving the dining experience for all our children. Sarah takes a particular interest in the pupil voice in our school and is the link Governor for the School Council. She is also the class governor for Class 5.
Father Brian Kenwrick
Father Brian is the Parish Priest for the Falmouth and Helston Parishes. He supports all members of the school community in many ways. He is a regular visitor to our school and leads a weekly Mass for classes or the whole school. Father Brian is the link Governor for Class 3 and also takes responsibility for the Sports Premium.
Mr Graham Boulton
Graham has a long-standing connection with St. Mary's as both his children attended the school in the past. He brings a wealth of financial expertise to the school and supports the school at every opportunity. Graham is the link governor for Class 1 and Mathematics, making regular visits to the school.
Mr. Gareth Churcher
Gareth is one of our Parent Governors with children in Class 3, 1 and the EYFS. He is Head of Service for Cornwall Music Service Trust and takes great pride in being the first person to accept this post. Gareth has taken a fairly non-formal route into music education after first studying to be an accountant! After gaining his AAT qualification he found a real enthusiasm and passion for teaching and started to teach for Music Cornwall, the then council run music service. Gareth supports the school at every opportunity, including being the Safeguarding and Whistle-blowing Governor. He brings a wealth of knowledge to his role on the finance committee and is also the link governor for Class 6.
Mrs Sue Marshall
Sue is the support staff governor, is a teaching assistant, supporting a child with individual needs in the EYFS and Class 1. She is a First Responder in the local community and brings this interest to her role and responsibilities as the Health and Safety Governor. Sue enjoys having an active role in the life of the school and is a member of the premises, buildings and health and safety committee. She is the link governor for Class 2.
Mrs. Jacqui Scarborough
Jacqui has been our headteacher for 11 years. She is a very experienced headteacher and a NLE (National Leader of Education). Prior to this Jacqui was the Deputy Head Teacher and began teaching at St. Mary's in 1996, having previously taught at St. John's Catholic School in Camborne.
Miss Susan Buscombe
Susan is the teacher governor and teaches in the EYFS. She is a member of the Senior Leadership Team and has taught at St. Mary's for 16 years. Susan takes a particular interest in ICT and Computing and leads this curriculum area. She also takes responsibility for coordinating online safety across the school. Susan takes responsibility for leading on Pupil Premium and also for coordinating the risk assessment systems as part of Health and Safety.
Mrs. Carol Pipkin
